SES granted the GTC Scotland Professional Learning Award for Organisations

We are delighted to announce that Scotland’s Enterprising Schools has been granted the GTC Scotland Professional Learning Award for Organisations.

The award celebrates organisations that support and promote teacher professional learning and identifies organisations which aim through their work to “develop and enhance teachers’ knowledge, experience and skill; develop their professionalism, and to impact positively on learning experiences and outcomes of children and young people” (GTCS Professional Learning Model 2017).

Once our application had been reviewed we were informed that “The panel agreed that the key features of high quality, effective professional learning in line with the Professional Learning Model and key features of Professional Update have been clearly demonstrated and are embedded into the principles of the programme design and the learning on offer”.

This means that we can now use the GTCS quality kite mark on all our resources and our professional learning modules and practitioners across Scotland can be confident that we provide quality materials to aid their continued professional development.

The application process for this award is highly rigorous and we are honoured to have received excellent feedback from such a well-respected establishment. Supporting practitioners is at the heart of everything we do, and we will continue to provide great quality resources and professional learning opportunities for the 3 years that the Award has been granted for and beyond.

We’d like to thank not only the GTC Scotland for recognising and rewarding our efforts but also everyone who has supported us along the way.

We are committed to, and recognise the importance of, developing collective knowledge in the area of effective enterprising education and many of our programmes have been developed and delivered in partnership with a wide range of partners including CREATE (ICUHI), Education Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, Young Enterprise Scotland and Social Enterprise Academy, as well as many others.

We’re really looking forward to building on this success and to the new and exciting things to come.
