Entrepreneurs- are they all the same? The first session in our three-part series exploring the Triple E of Enterprise; Expand, Empower and Explore.
For students of ITE (Initial Teacher Education), NQTs (Newly Qualified Teachers) and practitioners with an interest in developing their knowledge and understanding of Enterprise in Education.
All children and young people (3-18) in Scotland are entitled to develop their understanding of enterprise, entrepreneurship and self-employment as a career opportunity.
As educators, we are expected to relate relevant learning experiences and skills development to the labour market and employment opportunities including entrepreneurship and self-employment.
SES can help you, through reflection and professional dialogue, to feel confident in using Enterprise in Education to ensure you are fully able to meet the needs of your students. You may also discover your inner entrepreneur!
Expand
Expand your own knowledge and understanding of enterprise and entrepreneurialism in order to expand your students' notion of what a possible career path can look like.
Explore
Debunk the myths of entrepreneurialism and find out how to get practical advice and support for your students.
Empower
How can the enterprise skills be applied to learning, life and work? Why are they so desirable in employees and employers?
Join us for one, two or all three of our 2-hour online sessions:
Entrepreneurs- are they all the same? Exploring the entrepreneurial mindset
I'm a teacher, how can I give start-up advice? Processes and principles behind business start-up
What on earth is the Entrepreneurial Eco-System? Help and support for creation and growth of new ventures
Entrepreneurship and enterprise are widely thought to be a major driver for economic growth, job creation and wider community development- three things that are essential for Scotland to flourish as a nation.
Aim
Debunk the myths of entrepreneurialism by exploring a range of entrepreneurs, from the well-known names to some of our local heroes. Hear a candid account, first-hand from a passionate Scottish entrepreneur and challenge your preconceptions through a question and answer session. Complete a self-assessment of your own teaching methods to find out how entrepreneurial your teaching methods are before setting targets to exploit your own entrepreneurial strengths and nurturing these characteristics within yourself and your learners.
