Enterprising Practitioner Programme Receives Education Scotland Endorsement

Scotland's Enterprising Schools are delighted to have received endorsement for new Enterprising Practitioner Programme (EPP).

This CLPL programme has been designed to fully support practitioners in developing their skills and offering an opportunity for discussion and self-reflection.

The new blended learning format for the programme allows a cohort of practitioners from a range of settings across Scotland to learn from and support each other to develop their knowledge and expertise. By widening our networks, working together and adopting creative approaches to enterprise education, we know we can help open doors to new possibilities for our young people.

Julie Degnan, SES Project Manager

As of September 2021, the EPP has been endorsed by Education Scotland which indicates that it is informed by the national model of professional learning and links effectively to the relevant professional standards and policy context. By undergoing the endorsement process SES ensures that the programme offering is relevant and of the highest possible quality; developing depth of professional learning, knowledge, skills and understanding which ultimately has a great impact on the quality of the learner's professional learning experience.

EPP is tailored to practitioners of ASN, Primary and Secondary, in particular those with an interest in enterprise, DYW and skills development are encouraged to learn more.

By developing your own key enterprise skills, you can help to support our young people to cope and succeed in our increasingly diversifying environment by encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset through idea generation, creative problem solving and taking on responsibility.

Enterprise is cross-curricular by nature, and participation will give you the opportunity to reflect and adapt your practice to nurture skills development in your learners.

If we want to enable 'enterprise' for all we need to inspire, engage and support educational practitioners to have a full understanding of the broad benefits of enterprise education. The accreditation of Enterprising Practitioner Programme gives the enterprise agenda a heightened level of esteem and will ultimately have long term impact on the skills development of young people.

Geoff Leask, CEO Young Enterprise Scotland

The EPP will be delivered in a blended learning format, allowing you to work at your own pace whilst checking in with facilitators and fellow participants at four scheduled twilight sessions via MS Teams.
