Standing on the Shoulders of Giants at BiPC

Scotland's Enterprising Schools are delighted to be working in partnership with Young Enterprise Scotland to deliver a joint workshop at this year's Business in the Parliament Conference (BiPC).

The BiPC aims to facilitate engagement between businesses and politicians. It is jointly hosted by the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government with this year's theme being Resilience and Recovery.

The 'Standing on the Shoulders of Giants' workshop being led by SES and YES will take place on Thursday 3rd December from 11am – 12.30pm and will be exploring our current resilience and adaptability in how we react to our current environments. In particular, young people's resilience within Scottish schools will be focused on as we'll hear from Educators and Professionals from within the Business Start Up Community to see how their adaptability has impacted their opportunities for growth.

On the 4th December from 9.45am, the event will feature keynote addresses from:

  • Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister
  • Mark Logan, former Skyscanner Chief Operating Officer
  • Gordon Lindhurst, Convener of the Parliament's Economy, Energy and Fair Work Committee
  • Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Fair Work and Culture

There will also be a cross-party panel of MSPs and opportunity for delegates to pose questions to Mr Logan, the First Minister, and the cross-party panel.

At the end of the conference there will be an opportunity for virtual networking.
