About the organisation
ApparelXchange are a social enterprise dedicated to changing behaviours towards clothing, in particular school uniform through education and practical action. We are based in Glasgow and work with school across the city.
As a social enterprise we are committed to reducing the impact of clothing on the environment, providing skills development through our volunteering programme and supporting families on low incomes to access school uniforms.
Offers/ Enterprise activity in schools
We work with schools to provide materials to promote reuse of school uniforms, collection bins for donations of uniform, sales or pre-worn uniforms. We also provide educational sessions about the clothing supply chain which touches on many aspects of the Curriculum for Excellence.
We are also developing an educational programme with WOSDEC and are looking for schools to become involved in the development.
If you think your school would be interested in either of these activities, get in touch with us using the contact details below.
“We have found working with ApparelXchange a very rewarding experience. Izzie has worked with the school and our Parent Teacher Association to create a strong partnership which has enabled a range of high quality school uniform items to be made available to our entire parent body, at very reasonable prices. Parents have expressed widespread approval of this initiative, with particular enthusiasm shown at a recent event for parents of new Primary 1 pupils.” – Netherlee Primary
