ApparelXchange is a social enterprise dedicated to changing behaviours towards clothing. We work with schools and wider communities to provide practical action, educational sessions and access to low cost uniforms and casual wear. We are based in Glasgow, work with schools across he city.
As a social enterprise we are committed to reducing the impactvof clothing on the environment, providing skills development through our volunteering programme and supporting families on low incomes to access school uniforms.
We work with schools in several ways; providing reuse and recycling services which promote better use of clothing and provide low cost pre-worn uniform and free packages to families in need. We offer educational sessions about the clothing supply chain which touches on many learning outcomes for the Curriculum for Excellence and offer an enterprise module for Primary 6 and 7.
If you think your school would be interested in either of these activities, get in touch with us on the details above.
We have found working with ApparelXchange a very rewarding experience. Izzie has worked with the school and our Parent Teacher Association to create a strong partnership which has enabled a range of high quality school uniform items to be made available to our entire parent body, at very reasonable prices. Parents have expressed widespread approval of this initiative, with particular enthusiasm shown at a recent event for parents of new Primary 1 pupils.
