Apps for Good is a technology education movement and our mission is to grow the problem-solvers and digital makers of tomorrow. We aim to equip young people with the right digital and entrepreneurial skills to create technology for good, benefiting their communities and transforming their worlds.
We have 8 years of proven expertise partnering with schools and colleges across the UK. We upskill educators via our online CPD to deliver our courses – App Development, Internet of Things and Machine Learning – to their students.
Students are then challenged to come up with any problem or issue they are passionate about within their communities and learn how to solve it through building a digital product. Through the Apps for Good programme students learn not just vital technical skills but furthermore the enterprise and employability skills to design, market, launch and pitch their products solving real-world problems.
Delivering Apps for Good is completely free, with all of our CPD and teaching materials available online.
Throughout the duration of an Apps for Good course, teachers can also request the support of an industry Expert (from organisations such as Spotify, SAP, Salesforce, LEGO, Thomson Reuters and Skyscanner) to join their classroom virtually to help to guide and advise them across their digital projects, and bridge the gap between education and employment.
Students are also invited to enter our annual competition, with finalists invited to London to pitch their ideas to a panel of dragons.
Every teacher that delivers an Apps for Good course also gets access to our community of Experts and the opportunity for their students to enter our annual Awards.Testimonials
Not many school-based learning experiences can stake the claim of pupils sacrificing social times, but it was evident Apps for Good sparked something positive in our junior pupils from the get-go.
Never has an educational programme opened up so many opportunities to students and so many doors to industry.
The children felt he listened really well to them and gave them constructive feedback. He was very patient with them and they were all very excited afterwards as it is a real-life context.
Tom was excellent with the groups. We had a lot to cover in the time slot but he managed this well. His enthusiasm for each team's idea was apparent and he gave us great advice for moving forward now.
For me, "AppsforGood has been the biggest driver in encouraging women in tech"
